Orca Dental AI has announced a strategic partnership with Planet DDS to integrate its CephX artificial intelligence imaging suite into the Cloud 9 practice management platform.
The collaboration brings CephX’s 2D and 3D imaging capabilities directly into the Planet DDS ecosystem. The integration is designed to provide specialty practitioners and dental support organizations (DSOs) with advanced automation and instant cloud-based radiographic reports. It aims to enhance diagnostic consistency and support medico-legal compliance across multi-location practices.

Features and Workflow Integration
Practices using Cloud 9 will now have access to real-time AI-driven cephalometric analysis, instant radiographic reports, and planning and diagnostic tools for DICOM and intraoral scanner files.
By combining the cloud infrastructure of Planet DDS with Orca Dental AI’s imaging technology, the partnership is intended to streamline clinical workflows and improve case presentations. The companies note that the integration will reduce operational overhead by cutting turnaround times, allowing orthodontists and dental specialists to deliver more efficient care.

According to the companies, the integration is intended to scale artificial intelligence across specialty dentistry to create standardized diagnostics and consistent care models.
Planet DDS currently supports more than 100-location DSOs, enabling 14,500 practices to utilize cloud-based practice management. Orca Dental AI provides automated cephalometric tracing and 3D tools for dental professionals globally, aiming to help practices scale operations and improve treatment outcomes.
