The film is intended for its digital display solutions, which include the company’s new wellness kiosk which features built-in temperature sensor and touchless hand sanitizer functions.

TouchSource, a digital display company, has introduced a new antimicrobial film solution for touch screen devices. The product is part of the company’s expansion of its wellness and safety solutions for digital signage and kiosks amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Antimicrobial films aid in containment of any bacteria and viruses using a silver nanoparticle coating bonded to a low-residue adhesive which prevents bacterial colonization. Antimicrobial film reduces the time window in which bacteria and viruses are viable on the screen. According to a press release from the company, the film reduces contamination from common pathogens by at least 99.99% within 24 hours.

TouchSource Protect film is thin—120 microns thick—and provides protection against scratches and scuffs, as well as antimicrobial protection. In addition, it comes with a matte-anti-glare surface finish for improved digital signage.

According to the company, the film can be applied to currently installed displays and will be applied to new shipments at no added cost from now through September 1, 2020.

TouchSource offers contactless digital directories, wellness kiosks, visitor communications and tenant safety solutions for residential, business, retail, healthcare, and public spaces. The company recently released a wellness kiosk that displays safety and building messages. In addition, the TouchSource Taos kiosk features a built-in temperature sensor and touchless hand sanitation.
