Trapezio, Acworth, Ga, is offering a new-hire training package for orthodontic assistants. With the purchase of an Academy of Orthodontic Assisting Level I license, customers can get an OSHA license or an OrthoCommon Knowledge license for free.

The Academy of Orthodontic Assisting Level I program covers the fundamentals of orthodontics, with lessons covering oral and dental anatomy, orthodontic appliances, archwire selection, headgears and elastics, removal and retention, diagnostic records, radiation and x-ray safety, orthodontic models, patient management, infection control, and professionalism in orthodontics. The program is ideal for teaching new team members.
The OSHA license training lessons cover personal protective equipment, hand hygiene, engineering and workplace controls, immunizations, managing exposure incidents, waste management, and OSHA inspections.
The OrthoCommon Knowledge training course is designed for nonclinical team members—including front desk/receptionists, office managers, financial coordinators, marketing coordinators, spouses, and industry sales/service teams—that need to understand the fundamentals of orthodontics. The six-lesson course is a condensed version of the Academy of Orthodontic Assisting Level I.
Academy programs are Internet-based.
