Stratasys_J700_DentalStratasys Ltd, Minneapolis, announced the addition of the Stratasys J700 Dentalâ„¢ 3D Printer to its product offerings. A Poly Jet-based 3D printer, it is intended for production of clear aligner molds.

The Stratasys J700 is designed to provide the orthodontic office with a throughput that matches lab production rates, with more than 400 clear aligner molds per day. The company recommends the use of VeroDentâ„¢ material for quicker production, better accuracy, and minimal post-processing. The Stratasys J700 aims to offer seamless digital workflows for large-volume production of patient-specific aligners on the same tray, while also reducing requirements for manual post-curing or finishing.

According to the company, the Stratasys is easy-to-use and reduces requirements for advanced design expertise. The system includes GrabCAD Printâ„¢, which allows users to rely on default settings, while providing tips and notifications for a more efficient 3D printing process. Users can work with detailed model views alongside a tray and slice preview to handle all necessary adjustments before going to print.

The Stratasys J700 Dental is expected to be available in late 2017.
