In a recent survey, Orthodontic Products asked our readers, "What’s the best thing you’ve ever done for your practice?" Here’s this week’s featured answer, from Neal D. Kravitz, DMD, MS, of South Riding, Va, and White Plains, Md:

"Unquestionably, the best thing that I have done for my practice is toparticipate with all insurance carriers. Many clinicians avoidparticipating with insurance companies for a variety of justifiablereasons, the most common being: 1) orthodontic fees are excessivelydiscounted; 2) the hassle of collecting from insurance reimbursements;and 3) patients may switch carriers or lose employment, whichcomplicates insurance reimbursement. However, the return outweighs the work."
