One of two new bylaws added to the National Federation of High Schools’ wrestling rulebook, Rule 4-2-5, requires that wrestlers with braces or any other orthodontic devices wear tooth and mouth protectors during matches. Orthodontists can help by providing their patients with the proper mouthguards that will keep the patients and their wrestling opponents safe during orthodontic treatment.
