3Shape, New Providence, NJ, is presenting the OrthoSystem and TRIOS, a new intraoral digital impression solution, at the 2012 AAO Annual Session.

OrthoSystem brings together 3D scanning, treatmentplanning and analysis, patient management, communicationtools, and appliance design to provide workflows designed to help increaseefficiency and productivity.

Using the system, a practice can take a digital impression with TRIOS and perform treatment-planning with Ortho Analyzer while the lab loads the case into3Shape’s Appliance Designer to design the customized product. Labs can also receive digital impressions directly from the practice, along with feedback or questions.

OrthoAnalyzer si designed to provide complete insight into patient cases by simulating treatmentplans and applying familiar analyses in an efficient and systematicmanner.

Appliance Designer allows users to designmodified study models or appliances for output using 3D-drivenmachines and materials to create nightguards, retainers,splints, and surgical bites.

3Shape is also showcasing theTRIOS digital-impression solution, including a range of new features.TRIOS enables dentists to capture the intraoral situation and send a3D model directly to the lab, and does not require prespraying of the teeth. Thesystem clinically validates the impression and includes tools that allow dentists to edit scans, even delete and rescan specific areaswhere needed.
