According to a release from the company, 3M Unitek, Monrovia, Calif, doing business as TOP-Service fuer Lingulatechnik GmbH, and3M Deutschland GmbH, have served GuangzhouRiton Biomaterial Co., Ltd. (Riton) with a lawsuit alleging infringementof 3M’s patent related to lingual orthodontic braces.
3M’s European Patent 1474064, "Modular System for Customized OrthodonticAppliances," covers 3M Unitek Incognito Lingual Braces.
3M is alleging infringement against Riton’s e-Brace lingual bracketsystem and requesting that the court stop Riton from infringing 3M’spatent and award damages.
