American Orthodontics, Sheboygan, Wis, has added Empower BX Lower Premolar Pads to its Empower Self-Ligating pad options. According to the company, the BX bonding pad easily fits the tooth surface and features a size that is 6% larger than standard pads, allowing for enhanced bonding.
The Empower BX pad features a new middle prong on the clip to help suppress wire during closing and to provide a visual cue to ensure clip is fully closed. In addition, the new BX pad features a thicker clip for strength and wire seating. The Empower BX pad has the same tooth ID as other Empower metal brackets, as well as the same unified Empower family design.
