BioMers Products, LLC introduces a new aesthetic orthodontic retainer. According to the company, the new product maintains the functionality of traditional retainers, and its aesthetics are enhanced by the replacement of the metal labial wires with translucent polymer composite wires. The BioMers patented polymer composite fabrication process allows the production of custom translucent wires with performance equivalent to that of metal wires. The polymer composite wire is rigid. Once formed into a shape, it retains this shape and thus provides the necessary rigidity to function as a retainer wire. According to the company, these retainers were tested in a US clinical trial with excellent results.
