OraMetrix, Richardson, Tex, recently announced that the iTero® Element™ intraoral scanner, from Align Technology Inc, has been certified for use with suresmile®. The suresmile digital orthodontics software is designed to enable orthodontists to visualize and simulate multiple diagnostic setups and design archwires.

The certification of suresmile for use with the iTero Element comes as OraMetrix releases the latest version of suresmile.

According to the company, suresmile 7.3 features an improved MACROS user interface, including a simplified aligner prescription form, that is easier to follow and more efficient, requiring less navigation and fewer clicks. Other updates to suresmile 7.3 include the addition of Bracket Placement orientation lines added to IDB straight wire simulation. Now vertical and horizontal lines are placed on each tooth to help users visualize bracket placement. The intersection of the lines is set to the FA (facial axis) point.

suresmile 7.3 also features occlusal rests for non-bonded teeth added to the IDB tray design, improving the fit and stiffness of the trays. New bracket height set placement measurement options, featuring two viewing options for adjusting IDB bracket heights (by the actual bracket height or to the FA point—in millimeters), have also been included.

The system now offers users options for shipping notification by email when wires, IDB trays, or printed models are shipped. In addition, shipping preferences can be indicated.
