tab32, Irvine, Calif, has released a HIPAA compliant patient referral software for dental professionals. The new module allows for secure data sharing, helping to eliminate email, prints, and unsecure faxes that are often sent between practices.
The module allows the user to share patient information with a “click of a button,” according to the company. The referral information will include the patient chart, selective progress notes, x-rays, intraoral pictures, and communication messages between providers. The system also has an expiry date at which access to the records is terminated.
The referred provider will receive an email notification with instructions to access the patient record through a login.
The new software module is part of tab32’s free cloud-based dental EHR platform. The module is available to all providers for free, with unlimited share and access.
