The Palmero HVESolo Evacuation Tips are designed to protect patients and clinicians from infection, while making dental procedures more effective and comfortable.

Palmero Healthcare, a HuFriedyGroup subsidiary, has launched a new device to help mitigate the risk of aerosol contamination during dental procedures.

The Palmero HVESolo is a disposable evacuation tip designed for clinicians performing power instrumentation (air polishing/ultrasonic) procedures without an assistant.

As the company states in a press release, during power instrumentation procedures, bacteria and viruses can spread rapidly through splatter and aerosols, with dental providers being exposed to tens of thousands of bacteria per cubic meter. The use of an HVE (high-volume evacuator) has been shown to reduce contamination arising from the operative site by more than 90%, minimizing the risk of cross-contamination and protecting clinicians from infection caused by exposure to blood, saliva, and respiratory droplets.

In addition to protecting patients and clinicians from infection, the Palmero HVESolo is designed to make evacuation more effective and comfortable. The lightweight design and short—2.5 inch—length allow clinicians to more easily and comfortably guide evacuation along with powered instrumentation throughout the mouth, using their non-dominant hand, according to the company. The device also features proper venting, a wide scoop tip, and rounded edges that serve to maximize suction and improve visibility while maintaining patient comfort.

The Palmero HVESolo is compatible with all high-volume evacuation lines.
