GKAS is providing those interested in hosting a GKAS event with resources, including PPE, to ensure the event’s safety and effectiveness during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The American Dental Association (ADA) announced the launch of its nationwide 2021 Give Kids a Smile (GKAS) program. This year features a virtual kick off with more than 1,500 events scheduled across the country providing free dental healthcare to thousands of underserved children with the help of more than 6,500 dentists and 30,000 dental health team members.
Since its launch in 2003, GKAS has provided dental healthcare to over 300,000 underserved children.
“Helping 300,000 children in need is something to smile about, especially during this challenging time,” said ADA President Daniel J. Klemmedson, DDS, MD.
With the support of its sponsors Colgate-Palmolive, Henry Schein Inc, and Indian Health Services, GKAS is able to provide treatment and education kits for thousands of children who otherwise would not have access to these resources.
GKAS is providing those interested in hosting a GKAS event with planning resources, webinars, toolkits, and donated personal protective equipment to ensure programs are safe and effective during the COVID-19 pandemic.
