3Shape, Copenhagen, Denmark, received two Red Dot awards, recognizing the design of the just-released 3Shape TRIOS 4 intraoral scanner and the TRIOS MOVE+.

The 3Shape products were selected by the Red Dot global jury from more than 5,500 entries. Founded in 1955, the Red Dot Award is organized by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Essen, Germany.

This is the fifth and sixth 3Shape product to receive a Red Dot design award over the last 3 years.

3Shape TRIOS 4 intraoral scanner allows users to detect both possible surface and interproximal caries, expanding the use of intraoral scanners beyond restorative and orthodontic applications. The wireless TRIOS 4 features the same ergonomics as previous designs and the same scanner size and weight.

3Shape TRIOS MOVE+, one of the three hardware setup options for the TRIOS intraoral scanner, now features a larger 15.6-inch touchscreen attached to an arm and an easy-to-move stand with a mounted PC. Users can move and position the TRIOS MOVE+ as well as use its touchscreen, allowing its use as a communication tool with patients. According to the company, TRIOS MOVE+ helps to drive patient involvement and case acceptance in conjunction with 3Shape Excitement Apps like TRIOS Treatment Simulator and TRIOS Smile Design.
