The Dentists Supply Company, a venture created by the California Dental Association, will maintain its core focus as an online purchasing option for dental association members.

The Dentists Supply Company (TDSC), an e-commerce site created by the California Dental Association (CDA), has a new parent company: Henry Schein Inc. TDSC will continue to serve dental association members who want an online option for purchasing dental supplies as TDSC.com, Powered by Henry Schein.

Henry Schein will be the majority owner and operating company with CDA retaining ownership interest. According to a press release from the CDA, “the strategic vision of TDSC and its value to members will be preserved.”

“We’re proud of TDSC’s growth since its inception to help members of state dental associations remain competitive in a challenging practice environment,” said Walt Weber, DDS, chair of the TDSC Board of Directors. “We’re excited to join Henry Schein, as it will expand TDSC’s value proposition to our members.”

An advisory council is reportedly being formed to help ensure member value stays at the forefront of the TDSC’s purpose. Representatives from CDA, Henry Schein, dental association leadership, and practicing dentists will comprise the council. The council’s mission will be to provide insights and guidance to the TDSC.com operating team and board of directors.

According to a press release from the CDA, TDSC.com, Powered by Henry Schein will maintain its core focus of providing consistent, competitive pricing to members of the CDA and other state associations, now with the benefit of an expanded product offering and faster delivery service.

CDA says TDSC.com, Powered by Henry Schein access will remain a key member benefit.
