LED Medical Diagnostics, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, announced that it has entered into a purchase agreement to acquire dental imaging software company Apteryx Inc. The company expects the transaction to be closed in the first quarter of 2017.
Apteryx, founded in 1995 by Kevin Crucs, has 18 employees and is headquartered in Akron, Ohio. Crucs will join LED in a senior leadership role.
LED is currently a customer of Apteryx’s products and services.
The deal provides LED with a range of software applications to augment its dental hardware offerings through its subsidiary LED Dental Ltd, including RAYSCAN 3D Imaging, RAYSCAN Pan/Ceph Imaging, and VELscope® Vx. Moreover, the deal furthers the company’s efforts to be an end-to-end dental imaging solution provider.
