A new oral healthcare textbook from Colgate-Palmolive, New York, is now available. The book, titled Prevention Across the Lifespan: A Review of Evidence-Based Interventions for Common Oral Conditions, provides practical information with regard to the most common oral health indications, with a special emphasis on age-related considerations.
According to a press release from the company, the textbook is intended for use by those in the early stages of their education as well as experienced practitioners.
Co-edited by Ann E. Spolarich, RDH, PhD, FSCDH, director of research at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health, and Fotinos S. Panagakos, DMD, PhD, global director for scientific affairs at Colgate-Palmolive, the textbook is being distributed free of charge by the publisher, Professional Audience Communications, through an educational grant provided by Colgate.
The textbook focuses on current best evidence available to support decision making for recommended preventive interventions. According to the same press release, the editors and authors did not intend the textbook to be a comprehensive review of the science around diagnosis and treatment of caries, periodontal disease, or dry mouth, for example, but rather as a resource to emphasize how practitioners can help patients prevent disease from occurring, reoccurring, and progressing.
The book is available for free download from Colgate-Palmolive.
