In time for Halloween, this year’s Halloween Candy Buyback program is being launched nationwide. Participating dental professionals are asking kids to drop in the day after Halloween to donate unopened candy, which is then sent by Operation Gratitude as part of holiday care packages to troops serving overseas.

In exchange for their donation, kids can receive various prizes. This year, Firefly® toothbrushes are available to doctors who wish to participate in the Halloween Candy Buyback program at reduced prices to give out to children through Dr. Fresh Inc, Buena Park, Calif.

“Participating dentists are doing their part to encourage kids to enjoy all the fun of trick-or-treating, without overindulging in cavity-causing sweets,” says Dr Chris Kammer, the Wisconsin dentist who founded the Halloween Candy Buyback Program. “Kids love the colorful, glowing FireFly toothbrushes they get in return for the candy they donate, and they are thrilled to help send a little piece of home to our soldiers far away.”

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the Halloween Candy Buyback program.
