TeraRecon, a provider of 3D imaging systems and solutions for medical and volumetric visualization applications, introduces a dental Cone Beam CT (CBCT) scanner based on its proprietary XTrillion image-processing technology.

The CBCT scanner is targeted for dental  practices that perform in-office surgical implant procedures. The scanner provides 3D imaging with a 20 second scan time and features industry- standard surgical planning software, including SimPlant, ILS, and InVivo Dental. The scanner is capable of processing 1,024 images per rotation obtained from the solid-state, flat-panel detector system.

The company also offers the AquariusNET client server-based software, which can be used from any PC on the  network. The software provides practice workflow, management, storage, and remote review of the acquired DICOM images in interactive 3D.

The CBCT scanner will not be available for sale in the United States until it receives FDA clearance for marketing.
