Features include online patient intake forms for virtual consultation, patient portal accessibility from a mobile device, and team member text messaging with resource support 24/7.

MouthWatch recently added some new features to its TeleDent all-in-one teledentistry platform designed to further balance its provider and patient benefits. The company says the latest TeleDent release expands the mutual benefits of the virtual provider-patient experience.

“During the height of the pandemic, we experienced a tremendous number of signups and inquiries for TeleDent,” said Brant Herman, MouthWatch founder and chief executive officer. “This provided us with an opportunity to gain valuable feedback from a new group of clinicians and patients. The result was the development of enhanced features designed to improve the dental health experience on both sides of the dental encounter.”

The new enhancements to the TeleDent platform include a user-friendly online patient intake form, enabling patients to request a teledentistry consultation through an online request, which can be added to a practice’s website. TeleDent patients can also access the patient portal on their mobile phones to schedule a live virtual consult or message the practice. A mobile app is also available for patients, but not required.

In addition, dental professionals can send text messages for patient portal registrations or to invite patients to join virtual consults. Email is still an option but not a requirement. Virtual team support enables team members to use their smartphones to manage the practice’s TeleDent account directly, including user management, billing tools, and custom practice branding. Team members can also access training and education resources through the TeleDent Learning Center anytime, anywhere.
