We’re back with infection prevention and sterilization expert Jackie Dorst, RDH, BS, for part two of our multi-part series on remodeling your dinosaur sterilization room.

In this episode, Jackie talks about why every sterilization room remodel should start with an assessment of the instruments you use in your practice. With that information in hand, you can then determine the type and number of cassettes that will best serve you throughout the day. Only then should you move on to choosing the sterilizing equipment and cabinet design that is right for your practice.

Jackie provides a breakdown of the basic instruments needed in each cassette and what should be kept in pouches to best maximize efficiency. She also walks us through how to keep the whole setup organized. OP
