Spring Health Products Inc, Norristown, Pa, launched the latest product in its THE CURE curing light line, the Spring TC-3 with the wide lens. The Spring TC-3 features a flat-back head and 11 mm lens. The wider lens is designed to cover a larger area such as a 10 mm molar for a fast cure. The low-profile design is intended to ensure easy access to all areas of the mouth. The device also features front and back power buttons.
The TC-3 LED technology provides 1400 mW/cm2 high intensity and 700 mW/cm2 low to deliver consistent, uniform power to the curing site, according to the company. The multiwavelength LED has four diodes producing high-intensity light at 440 nm-460 nm. This wavelength is capable of polymerizing most light-cured dental materials, penetrating porcelain to cure underlying resin cements and allowing for a 6 second uniform cure. The digital timer readout can be set from 2 to 20 seconds. The durable all metal housing is easy to disinfect and virtually unbreakable, according to the company. There is no glass rod to chip or break; the LED is in the head.
The TC-3 weighs 3.1 ounces, which is intended to help reduce fatigue, and the unique ergonomic shape provides a comfortable grip from any angle with a grip diameter of only 0.75 inches. The battery- operated, cordless wand design is intended to provide convenience and flexibility. The Spring TC-3 features batteries that can be changed.
The device is made in the United States.
