Atlanta-based orthodontist Robert N. Pickron, DDS, has helped generate more than $58,000 in donations to metro Atlanta charities through Project Smile Atlanta.
Here is how Pickron’s program works: Instead of paying Pickron Orthodontic Care for replacing lost or broken retainers, patients or parents write a check in the amount of the cost of retainer repair or replacement to support participating charitable organizations. Pickron Orthodontic Care then matches all contributions dollar-for-dollar.
Project Smile organizations include Rainbow Village, Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, Georgia Center for Children, Prevent Child Abuse Georgia, and Project Open Hand-Atlanta.
In addition to Project Smile, Pickron Orthodontic Care works to support education and build awareness of dental health care in schools and has donated more than 2,000 orthodontic emergency supply kits that contain wax, orabase, disposable toothbrushes, toothpaste, and dental floss.
