The AAOF announced a new corporate partnership with LightForce, with company pledging to help support its mission to empower experts.

The American Association of Orthodontists Foundation (AAOF), the charitable-giving arm of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), announced its newest corporate partnership with LightForce.

LightForce was the 2022 recipient of the AAO Innovation Award and has donated $5,000 to the AAOF in support of the foundation’s mission to advance the specialty through research and giving.

“At LightForce we believe research both fuels new ideas and emphasizes the scientific method as a means of evaluating new technologies and clinical philosophies,” said Alfred Griffin III, DMD, PhD, LightForce chief executive officer and co-founder. “As a beneficiary of orthodontic research, we feel compelled to support the AAOF’s mission to advance the specialty of orthodontics.”

Since 1994, the AAO Foundation Awards Program has provided almost $15 million in funding, which has supported over 264 Fellowship awards, 303 research awards and publication of over 100 articles and abstracts supporting ongoing professional advancement opportunities in the orthodontics field.

According to LightForce director of clinical affairs, Chris Bonebreak Jackson DMD, MS, LightForce and the AAOF share a common goal – to support and continue to build the future of orthodontics. “As a company founded by orthodontists, for orthodontists, we share in the mission to empower the expert.”

“Corporate partnerships are vital to the success of the foundation, and we truly appreciate support from one of the up-and-coming technology companies in the orthodontic industry,” said Chris Bentson, AAOF board of directors president.
