The new Snap-On DiscGuard from ContacEZ, Vancouver, Wash, is a transparent plastic guard that easily snaps on and off the disc, increasing efficiency while protecting the patient’s tongue, lips, cheeks, and gums from spinning discs. The single-patient use, disposable DiscGuard fits discs up to 22 mm, and is designed for use with slow-speed handpieces.
According to ContacEZ, the compact, lightweight design of the DiscGuard, as well as its transparent plastic, enables dental professionals to perform procedures without obstruction or fear of injuring the patient. Once the procedure is complete, the guard is snapped off of the disc and disposed of with normal waste products.
