The AI-powered module generates case summaries and compares treatment options to assist in early patient consultations.

SoftSmile has introduced Vision Forecast, an AI-powered decision-support module designed to help orthodontists understand case complexity, compare treatment options, and forecast treatment duration in real time.

AI-Powered Case Assessment

Operating within the SoftSmile VISION Portal, the new module analyzes cases to generate a summary that includes approximate aligner requirements, relevant clinical details, and commonly used treatment strategies. This allows clinicians to assess potential treatment timelines quickly and compare different clinical approaches, such as proceeding with or without extractions.

According to the company, the software identifies patterns and connections during the initial review stage that might not be immediately apparent.

Visualizing Treatment for Patients

“Now, the initial assessment will be visualized, and the doctor will be able to walk the patient through it. This gives patients a clearer picture of what their treatment may involve, helping them understand the commitment before deciding how to proceed,” says Khamzat Asabaev, founder and chief executive officer of SoftSmile, in a release. “Most importantly, and this is what I love most about Forecast, we will show doctors similar cases and how they were treated.”

Integration with VISION Portal

The module integrates SoftSmile’s clinical data, proprietary software, and in-house treatment-planning capabilities. It functions as part of the company’s broader development of AI-powered features across its orthodontic technology ecosystem. The VISION platform currently supports more than 1,000 doctors and exports over 10,000 treatment plans per month.
