The orthodontist-led company was established to continue the technology after the previous provider, InBrace, ceased operations in 2025.
Following the closure of lingual orthodontic company InBrace, New York-based orthodontist Dr Scott Schwartz has launched InSmile Braces to continue the technology and support patients in active treatment.
Rebuilding the System
InBrace ceased operations in April 2025, prompting Dr Schwartz, the system’s largest provider, to acquire the intellectual property, production equipment, and manufacturing assets needed to relaunch the technology. With hundreds of his own patients mid-treatment, he established a new production facility to ensure continuity of care.
Dr Schwartz had previously worked with engineers to refine the system, contributing to wire design, specialized instruments, and clinical workflows.
An Orthodontist-Led Company
Launched in August 2025, InSmile Braces is an independent company, entirely separate from InBrace. The new organization was initially funded through Dr Schwartz’s personal investment.
“Our goal is to build a company that partners with orthodontists through long-term support and trust,” says Dr Schwartz, in a release.
He also credited the engineering and production team for their role in the relaunch. “They believed in the technology as much as I did and came back to help bring it to life again. What they accomplished in four months was remarkable,” he says.
InSmile Braces is now operating as an orthodontist-led company committed to advancing lingual orthodontic treatment.
