Dentsply SironaDentsplySirona_Sidexis4_lightbox, Charlotte, NC, has updated its SIDEXIS 4 imaging software.

SIDEXIS 4 includes a “Lightbox” feature (see image) that allows users to showcase digital images—intraoral, panoramic and cephalometric x-rays, CBCT scans, FaceScan, and intraoral camera images—on the same screen at the same time. Meanwhile, the “Timeline” feature allows users to present an overview of a patient’s entire imaging history that can be viewed at a glance. The feature allows clinicians to give patients an intuitive time-lapse of their diagnostic options. The SIDEXIS 4 “Compare” feature allows users to display images, both 2D and 3D, side by side for instant references to changes in dental anatomy, without the need to switch between programs or windows.

The latest update to SIDEXIS 4 incorporates Dentsply Sirona’s intraoral scanner—Schick 33. The integration gives SIDEXIS users access to Schick 33’s enhancement tools and exposure advisor feature. By using Schick within SIDEXIS 4, users will have access to the software’s error-proof sensor placement positioning guide. An animated visual of anatomy and placement shows staff the correct holder and where to place the sensor for each image.

SIDEXIS 4 allows users to set up individually configured filters. In addition, it features measurement and annotations tools, as well as remote control of the TENEO treatment center.

The SIDEXIS 4 software platform is open to all major image formats, according to the company, and accepts files obtained by intraoral, panoramic and cephalometric x-trays, 2D and 3D CBCT systems, intraoral camera, and FaceScanner.
